On April 19th, 1775, British troops, hoping to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams, were repelled by armed militia. The "Lobsterbacks" were forced all the way to Boston, and half of those troops were killed along the way.
Thomas Jefferson said, "Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God."
I want to express my gratitude to the hundreds of armed militia that helped Cliven Bundy recover his cattle from the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) earlier this year. And, if rumors are true that BLM now has plans to confiscate Texas property along the Red River, I want to thank, in advance, the thousands of armed militia that will gather to put an end to that federal superstition.
Please. Stop and reflect for just a moment. What do you think "Give me Liberty, or give me death" really means? Freedom isn't free, and the out-of-control federal government certainly isn't going to negotiate peacefully about which rights you're allowed to exercise.
I hope that everyone will enjoy this precious holiday, attending the parades, grilling at picnics, and watching fireworks late at night. Those are all appropriate celebrations of Liberty - but only if we truly understand the sacrifices that were made to protect those Liberties.
Happy Independence Day, everyone. I hope we continue to deserve it.
